1. Get your Superhero
2. Invent a Villain who is THE Enemy of your Superhero. It’s someone who wants you to not succeed. Because that’s what villains are all about.
Are you a perfectionist? Invent a Villain who is messing things up. Are you afraid to step into the light? Invent a Villain who tells you that staying in the dark is a swell idea. Or a villain who pushes you outside.
– Give her / him a name
– Where does he/she live
– What does he/she wants (find her goal. Is it truly a bad idea or is there some truth in it?)
– How will your Superhero beat your Super Villain?
– How heroic is your Superhero without the Villain?
You can use one of the Heroes/Villains I made for you as a source of inspiration or make a new one.(remember the sock?)
If you like you can use this story (or invent one yourself):
SUPER VILLAIN MESSED UP MY DAY.
One day … (name go villain) came to the planet earth with no other intention than … (goal).
(Name) … came all the way from … (place where he/she lives) because … (the raison d’être of the villain).
However … (name of the Superhero) used her Superpowers … (write down the special superpowers)
to …. ( finish your story)
3. How does it feel to ‘be‘ that villain when making up the story?
4. Take a couple of minutes to digest. What do you feel?
5. Reflect in your workbook.
Why we need to know more about villain.
When we grow up we are taught to be good. To behave well. Ignore the anger, the jealousy, the sadness, the screaming fits of rage, the fear! Basically all emotions that make your face look like a raisin 🙂
But it’s our shadow that provides us with deep truths about ourselves. Feeling anger does not make you a bad person. As long as we try to lean into it, instead of acting out. (Said the woman who has those screaming fits of rage)
Look at your shadow, befriend it, learn from it. There is a message there about what it is you need, strive for, your true power and potential, that you will only find when we’re courageous enough to look it in the eyes.
Become friends with the villain
